Windows! Well frames at least

Things are moving on a-pace and we now have all of the missing lower walls in place as well as some framing for the windows, front door & patio doors.

Can you see where they all are?? 😉

Not sure what the green screen at the back is for?  Perhaps we'll be filming a movie before we're finished.

New floor, New Wall, New Power and New Road.....

So it's been a little while since we've posted and quite a few things have been going on.

New Floor;

The concrete floor and covering screed is all completed, ready for the final floor covering when all done and the walls have all had some treatment for damp coursing.

New wall;

And yesterday Scott and team started & about finished the brickwork to build out the missing wall and raising the other window/door areas.

We've had to change the design of the windows a little bit to ensure that we're not adding too much weight onto foundations which haven't had to bear much weight before but apparently I'll learn to live without a window over the kitchen sink :)

New Power;

This weekend was a landmark occasion, although not sure our neighbours will have enjoyed it much, as we closed about 1.5 miles of road whilst UK Power Network dug it up to lay our electricity cables!

Despite some initial concerns about exactly where the cables were going to be placed, we bribed them with some bacon sarnies and it all worked out perfectly.

and new Road...well all 25 cm's of it;

Once all completed and road re-opened, the neighbours can now enjoy the nice new piece of tarmac road and shiny white lines.
